Frank Lloyd Wright was an US-American architect.
He was born on June 8 1867 in Richland Center [Wisconsin] and died on April 9 1959, aged 91 in Phoenix [Arizona].
1885 Frank Lloyd Wright started to study at the University of Wisconsin
1887 he left the university without a degree
Frank started working at Joseph Lyman Silsbee's office in Chicago, but did not even stay for a year, because he started workin for Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan.
1893 Frank Lloyd Wright founded his own office in Oak Park, suburbs of Chicago.
Since Wright grew up on the countryside one of his main aspects in his work was to integrate the buildings into the landscape, like perfectly done for Edgar J. Kaufmann's Villa Fallingwater.
Some of his best known works are the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and the office building for the Johnson Wax Company.
One of his main concerns was to establish an "American Style", an architecture with the spirit of democracy, pioneering spirit and solidarity.
Later on Frank Lloyd Wright started a couple of studios under the name "Taliesin", that should be platforms to develop a new, independent Amercian architecture.
Wright also took theory as an important part of his work.
